The Mercedes-Benz Vito has been around for 25 years and was their answer to the success of the Volkswagen Transporter van. In this article we take a look at the key Mercedes-Benz Vito dimensions covering the three van lengths on offer in the UK.
Mercedes-Benz Vito Load lengths
Whilst there are only two wheelbases at 3200mm and 3430mm, the Mercedes-Benz Vito has three load lengths. The 3200mm wheelbase has two load lengths, the L1 is 2045mm but 2568mm if measured along the floor and allowing 370mm for the space under the front seats. The L2 is 2290mm but 2831mm if measured along the floor, again allowing 370mm for space under the front seats. The longest Vito is the L3 on a 3420mm wheelbase and this has a maximum load length of 3061mm along the floor and 2520mm inside the cargo area at shoulder height.
Vito Load Height
The Vito has only one roof height and that results in an internal cargo area height of 1391mm and the loading height taken from the ground to the cargo area floor is 558mm.
Vito Door Sizes
The side load door is 1252mm high and 985mm wide although there is intrusion from the bulkhead. The rear door is 1391mm wide and 1261mm high and is often specified as a tailgate, which is unusual for a cargo van.
Mercedes-Benz Vito Cargo Area
The Vito has three cubic capacities, the L1 is 5.5 cubic metres , the L2 6 cubic metres and finally the L3 is 6.6 cubic metres. Inside the maximum inside width is 1685mm and in between the wheel arches this is reduced to 1270mm.
Vito Overall Dimensions
With three different load lengths unsurprisingly the Vito has three sets of overall dimensions, ranging from 4895mm to 5370mm with an overall height of 1910mm and overall width of 2249 which also includes the mirrors.
