Fastest Van in the UK

Whether its wanting to get to the next jobsite, or back home after a long shift, sometimes we just want that journey to be over as soon as possible and arrive, which is why having a nippy van is not without its benefits. In this article, we list the Top 5 fastest vans on sale in the UK.

5 – Ford Transit Custom (11.5 seconds)

Just making the cut for the Top 5 fastest vans in the UK is the Ford Transit Custom. Gone are the days of that 3.2-litre five pot; nowadays Ford’s medium van is solely powered by a fairly gutless 2.0-litre EcoBlue, churning out 155bhp and achieving the 0-62mph sprint in a miserable 11.5 seconds.

4 – Renault Trafic (10.8 seconds)

Despite having a much smaller engine, the Renault Trafic (and it’s Fiat Talento, Nissan NV300 and Vauxhall Vivaro siblings) reach 62mph much faster than the Ford. The twin turbo version powers the Trafic to 62mph in just 10.8 seconds, which isn’t bad considering it’s the least powerful of them all at 145bhp.

3 – Peugeot Expert and similar (10.0 seconds)

The Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch have the widest choice of engines of any van, the most powerful of which is a punchy 177bhp/400Nm 2.0-litre BlueHDi engine mated to a 6-speed automatic. The powerful engine, combined with the swift gear changes, propels the Expert to 62mph in just 10 seconds.

2 – Mercedes-Benz Vito (9.2 seconds)

The Mercedes-Benz Vito held the title for the fastest van in the UK for many years with the Sport X V6, but the Euro-6 emission standard means that’s sadly come to an end. Merc is now, however, offering more powerful versions of the 2.1-litre engine (up to 188bhp/440Nm) which take just 9.2 seconds to get to 62mph.

Fastest Van UK – Volkswagen Transporter (8.8 seconds)
